Mammoth Ivory Scrimshaw Pendant This scrimshaw pendant is etched into mammoth ivory by Mary Mueller. It measures .5 inches wide by 2.5 inches long. As a young adult she roamed the world going to such places as Europe, Crete, Mexico, and Central America, but Alaska always drew her back.When she was 28, a friend introduced her to the art of scrimshaw, giving her a piece of fossil ivory and an engraving point.At this moment she knew she had found her life’s work.
