Thunderbird This plaque is hand-carved from red cedar by Herman Peter, a Tsimshian artist of Kuper Island, B.C. It includes the thunderbird, killerwhale, bear and salmon. He is a very talented artist who has been transforming his red and yellow cedar plaques into cultural art for many years.He creates designs representing eagles, seals, ravens, killer whales, and bears. Herman’s work is very precise and he displays the bright color combinations that are characteristic of the Tsimshian culture.
